Bainbridge North Main Street

This block was built by Dr. Gervis Prince in 1871. It was called the 'Prince block.' You are looking at the building now owned by NBT Bank. The corner store was a drugstore. The one left to the drugstore was believed to be a grocery store. The third store is the First National Bank, founded by Dr. Prince.

The fourth store toward the left is believed to be another grocery store. There were apartments and offices upstairs. The center on the third floor was 'Prince Hall,' a place for dances, plays and presentations. It later became the Mason Lodge.
